The Mad Men credits - symbolism or foreshadowing?
Last night the Mrs. and I were in bed watching Law & Order and discussing what we’d like to appear on our tombstones (believe it or not, we do still have sex). She was pretty quick on the draw but I was stumped. It only took 12 hours before I found something worth stealing:
Here lies daddle*dee. He lived by three rules:
1. They not ready
2. Motherfuckers need to know
3. Git yo shit
Hat tip to DJ Ol’ Youngin’
Because it’s J Dilla time somewhere
Nice review of (the new) Wilco (The Album). This blog is new to me as well and is making a strong case to be added to the rotation. If you haven’t yet heard Wilco, you can stream the entire thing from Pitchfork.
My only comment after a dozen listens is that “You Never Know” sounds too much like George Harrison to even be listenable. I just can’t take anything Beatle-related any longer. If you held a gun to my head I’d grant you the Faces’ cover of Maybe I’m Amazed or My Sweet Lord played very softly in the backseat of a cab on the way home after a long, loud night on the town.
Chiddy Bang, son.
Comedian Aziz Ansari’s alter-ego, Raaaaaaaandy!, from the film Funny People, just launched his own web site. I saw Aziz at Punchline last fall and he did a Raaaaaaaandy! set within a set. Fun stuff. The following morning we saw his DJ at Posh Bagel ordering a pizza bagel. Whoaaa!
Aziz blogs over here. And if you haven’t already, check out his Shittiest Mixtape video.
